Alex/Max Litter - January 2006

January 21, 2006 - 8 days to go!

Well, we are on the countdown to delivery day and all is going very well!  Alex is getting bigger by the day and more and more uncomfortable.  Here's hoping things go well this time!

Alex's favourite pasttime in the winter - making snow angels!

We woke up to a wonderful snow storm!  It was absolutely beautiful outside and the view toward the lake was gorgeous - check it out!

January 25, 2006 - 4 days to go!

We took Alex for an x-ray this time to see how many puppies we can expect.  Looks like about 8 puppies, so a nice sized litter for her last time around!

She spends a lot of time sleeping now (storing up energy for the big push)

I will likely only add a few more photos of Alex about a day before delivery so check back on Saturday, January 28, 2006!

January 27, 2006 (D Day!)

Surprise, surprise - Alex had her last litter 2 days early!  8 wonderful puppies born January 27, 2006 between 5:00pm and 9:30pm - way to go Alex!

Here's the proud mom and her new crew!

Alex / Max Litter - born January 27, 2006

PUPPIES ARRIVED LATE JANUARY!!!  Alex did it again!  She sure is a trooper!  8 wonderful puppies have arrived safe and sound - 2 boys and 6 girls!

The delivery was almost uneventful - her water broke at 2:30pm on January 27th and then the pushing began at 3:30pm.  Well the first puppy was a male stillborn at 5:00pm  It is always hard starting a delivery that way and makes for a very stressful time - for me anyway!  Alex kept on going just like the trooper she is and had 7 more puppies by 7:30pm.  I gave her a shot of oxytocen at 8:10pm to make sure everything was over and to help clean her out.  I put everything away, cleaned her bed and started a load of laundry.  I even made a few phone calls to let some key people know that things were over and just as I was heading to the phone one more time, out popped another puppy  Luckily, he was alive and kicking and is now doing just great!

Anyway, pictures of Alex and Max are below and then the link to the puppy photos below that...

Mom:  Camgold Alex - aka - ALEX

Dad:  Kantung Nugget of Gold - aka - MAX

What a smile! - Doesn't he look like he is smiling for the camera?

WEEKLY PUPPY PHOTOS

VIDEOS

Here are a few videos of the puppies so all of you can see how they are moving and growing.  I have removed some of the boring ones to make room for Casey's 1st Litter photos and videos.
